This workshop-style group focuses on writing for performance: play- and screenwriting, radio drama and monologues. A lively group where work is read aloud and then discussed in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. We've been meeting since 2008 on the first Monday of the month in Ealing to hear scenes being read. We are trialing a second monthly meeting in Soho. Occasionally we also have an interim meeting to discuss full length scripts. You are invited to upload around 10mins of script (usuall …
Writing can be difficult and lonely. Sometimes we need to get out and away from our own distractions and excuses. Pubs, cafes and parks are nice but wouldn't it also be good to be part of a group of writers? So let's work quietly together, gently encouraging each other to soldier on, and minding each others things when we have to go to the loo... THE IDEA Is simple. We are a serious group of writers that meet somewhere comfortable and write for 2, 3 or 4 hours straight. Each person wor …
Join us to get inspiration, keep yourself motivated and discuss the craft of great story telling. Exchange ideas, get feedback on your work and meet others devoted to creative writing. This group welcomes creative writers of all abilities. Maybe you've been writing for a while, or perhaps you'd like to write more frequently but can't keep the momentum going. We meet to discuss our writing in progress, read and share our work. We have regular workshops where we discuss "How To" books that insp …

… A place where we can put forward our ideas for scripts to be discussed, decide which ones will then be further developed by the entire workshop and get hands on experience at all stages in the pre-production. Once we have all the necessary requisites (a final script, the breakdown, a budget, etc...) the aim will be to apply for external funding (primarily through grants) to enable us shoot the film. I hope you decide "to move in" to create a great neighborhood where we can all fulfill our pa …

We're a group for London's creative writers to read their work and get constructive feedback in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. At our meetings we have six reading spaces per meeting. Taking a reading means you'll read your work for 10-15 minutes and then given critique/discussion from around the table. It sounds a lot scarier than it is, trust me! Most members are either working on short stories or a first novel but we welcome any creative writer seeking advice and encouragement. We end each ev …

I've been improvsing for about 10 years but have not found groups who want to do quite what I want to do, so the time has come to try and start my own. My vision of impro is holistic. This is impro as if it was about having fun rather than being good at it. It's about playing a game in unexpected ways being more fun than winning the game. This is impro as something that you could apply to your whole life instead of just for performing. Impro as therapy- realising you don't need a script to live …
