I found that meeting other local screenwriters was difficult so I thought I'd start a group and see how it goes. The purpose would be to read one another's scripts and talk about screenwriting. If you're a screenwriter who is actively writing scripts and is passionate about screenwriting, let's meet and give one another feedback.

Austin Writers is a meant as a source of positive reinforcement and community for writers of all kinds in the Austin area. During a regular month, we have 2 meetups; one in South Austin & one in North Austin. (I am in the process of expanding that to 4 meetups a month.) We are a committed group of writers that meet every Tuesday and Thrusday for 4-5 hours. We meet at a local coffee shop, share our work and do critiques. Primarily the group will be focused on creative writing (fiction). The main quality we seek - honest (no kiss ass) in depth critiques.
